More Households Than Ever Now Qualify
With the introduction of ECO4 Flex more households than ever before are eligible to access ECO funding.
You can now qualify with or without being a benefit recipient.
You may qualify without being a benefit recipient if your Local Authority is participating in ECO4 Flex and one of the following applies:
- Your gross household income is below £31,000 per year.
- A member of the household has a specified medical condition leaving them vulnerable to living in a cold home (For example - Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease, Limited Mobility and other conditions).
For benefit recipients the following qualify:
- Pension Credit Guarantee
- Pension Savings Credit
- Tax Credits
- JSA
- ESA
- Universal Credit
- Income Support
- Housing Benefit
- Families that receive Child Benefit/Family Allowance (Income thresholds apply).
GBIS
The Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS) has now been launched! If your home falls into the appropriate council tax banding you DO NOT HAVE TO BE IN RECEIPT OF BENEFITS TO QUALIFY and you do not have to satisfy any of the ECOFlex criteria.

In many cases the ECO funding covers 100% of the installation cost making the upgrade FREE for the homeowner or private tenant (subject to survey).
